HTC have been particularly picky about releasing the current Android version, Ice Cream Sandwich, to their smartphones with only a few having the update. The company itself has been picky in regards to what devices actually do receive the update since last year and it’s something that should really have been made available out for all of its smartphone users a few months ago.¬†However, the company has now announced plans to release the update to a considerably larger set of its devices.

The firm’s official blog saw HTC Global Community Manager Darren Krape stating they’re currently working on releasing Android 4.0 to the devices listed below:

  • DROID Incredible 2 by HTC
  • HTC Amaze 4G
  • HTC Desire S
  • HTC Desire HD
  • HTC EVO 3D
  • HTC EVO Design 4G
  • HTC Incredible S
  • HTC Sensation
  • HTC Sensation XL
  • HTC Sensation 4G
  • HTC Sensation XE
  • HTC Raider
  • HTC Rezound
  • HTC Rhyme
  • HTC Thunderbolt
  • HTC Vivid

Regarding Ice Cream Sandwich being launched on the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE, the smartphones will receive the upgrade in the coming weeks. The devices to receive the update following the said smartphones will be the HTC Sensation 4G and HTC Sensation XL.
