Jailbreak or Unlock iPhone 4, 3Gs, 3G on Firmware 4.1 or 4.2.1 Guideby Atul On November 30th, 2010
This guide will help you jailbreak and unlock your iPhone 3G, iPhone 3Gs Old boot-ROM and iPhone 3Gs new boot-ROM. The jailbreak can be performed on iOS firmware 4.1 and firmware 4.2.1.
If you’re on the new boot-ROM iPhone 3Gs, I’d suggest you stick to firmware 4.1 when you’re applying this.
If you’re on the old boot-ROM iPhone 3Gs, I’d suggest you upgrade to firmware 4.2.1 when you’re applying this.
*Win 7 and Win Vista users should right click Redsn0w.exe the go to Properties>Compatibility[tab]>Change to Windows XP
Now Browse>Select your firmware [Download in Step #1]
*A pop will appear, asking you whether you have the old bootROM or new bootROM. Click “Yes” for New BootROM and “No” for Old BootROM.
A pop will appear similar to the one above with checkboxes.
- Tick Cydia
- Tick Install iPad baseband [You have to tick this because it is the only way you can unlock your phone]
Make sure your iPhone is switched off and connected to your PC/laptop. Now click “Next” and follow the steps on the screen.
Once the procedure is complete, Open Cydia>Manage>Sources>Repo666.ultrasn0w.com>Install Package [ultrasn0w]
